Event Description
Overview
This two-day, hands-on workshop is specifically designed for physiotherapists and exercise professionals aiming to advance their skills in prenatal and postnatal care. The program focuses on bridging the gap between rehabilitation and functional training, enabling participants to confidently assess, design, and implement safe and effective exercise programs for antenatal and postnatal clients.
With a strong emphasis on clinical application and movement-based rehabilitation, the workshop covers maternal biomechanics, pelvic floor and core integration, and condition-specific management. Participants will engage in practical sessions, case-based learning, and real-world program design, ensuring they can apply evidence-based strategies in both clinical and fitness settings.
Objectives
· Enhance understanding of maternal biomechanics and physiological changes relevant to exercise and rehabilitation
· Develop skills in prenatal and postnatal assessment for safe clinical decision-making
· Design and implement individualized, stage-wise exercise programs for antenatal and postnatal clients
· Integrate core and pelvic floor rehabilitation into functional movement training
· Apply evidence-based strategies to manage common musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, diastasis recti)
· Improve exercise modification, progression, and regression techniques based on patient presentation
· Build confidence in guiding clients through safe return to activity, fitness, and sport
· Strengthen clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills through case-based application
· Deliver holistic, client-centered care in both clinical and fitness environments
